Chicken Noodle Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 4 TBSP Butter
  • 1 Onion, small-diced
  • 2 Celery Stalks, small-diced
  • ½ tsp Kosher Salt
  • 3 TBSP Flour
  • 1 Cup Chicken Stock/Broth
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 2 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Plus 2-3 TBSP for topping)
  • 1 Rotisserie Chicken, Skin Removed and Chopped Small
  • 2 TBSP + 1 tsp Herban Legend Seasoning Blend
  • 1 lb Egg Noodles (16 oz)
  • *1 ½ Cups Starchy Pasta Water
  • 5 oz Frozen Peas, defrosted
Chicken Noodle Skillet

Notes* Be sure to reserve pasta water right before pasta is finished cooking.

Instructions

Step 1:

Cook noodles in salted boiling water according to instructions. (Reserve 1 ½ cups pasta water)

Step 2:

In a large skillet with upright sides, sauté onions, celery and Kosher salt in butter until onion is translucent

Step 3:

Over medium heat, add flour and stir for about 1-2 minutes.

Step 4:

Add chicken broth and milk and continue to stir until mixture bubbles and thickens (about 4-5 minutes)

Step 5:

Over low heat, add shredded cheese and stir.

Step 6:

Add chicken and 2 TBSP Herban Legend Seasoning.

Step 7:

Add cooked noodles and pasta water and stir.

Step 8:

If desired, top with a light sprinkle of cheese and 1 tsp Herban Legend. Cover and allow cheese to melt for a few minutes.

Step 9:

Serve immediately.
