Simple Rice Pilaf

  • 2 TBSP Butter
  • 1⁄2 Cup Onion, small-diced
  • 1 Cup Vermicelli
  • 1 Cup White Rice
  • 1 TBSP Herban Legend Blend
  • *2 1⁄2 Cups Chicken Stock
  • *You may use Vegetable Broth as substitute
Simple Rice Pilaf

Notes* This is a very simple version for pilaf. You may add 1⁄4 cup slivered almonds and 1⁄4 cup white raisins to yours. Just add to the top of the rice when it is done cooking and let sit covered for about 10 minutes. You can also chop up celery and throw it in with the onions.


Step 1:

In a sauce pot, sauté onions in butter until translucent.

Step 2:

Add vermicelli, rice & sauté for about 5 minutes until vermicelli starts to lightly brown.

Step 3:

Add chicken stock, Herban Legend Seasoning and bring to a boil & cover.

Step 4:

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.

Step 5:

Remove lid and let sit uncovered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork before serving.
